Side Effects of ADHD Drugs

A lady stopped in the store the other day with her 7 year old son. She was looking for a supplement to help her son sleep. The woman also wanted something for herself, and she looked noticeably tired. Of course, I asked her why he had such a hard time sleeping at night. She said it was the ADHD drugs her son was taking.

The boy then blurts out... I stay up to midnight every night. A 7 year old boy with his mind racing, playing until 12:00am, 7 days a week. Can you imagine? I wonder why she is so tired.

I felt so bad for the kid. He just wanted to sleep. And by her quiet demeanor, the boy didn't even know he was on some drug. I asked her if she ever thought about just taking him off the ADHD stimulant. I mean, that's clearly the problem. She thought about it, but it wasn't going to happen in the near future. I didn't even want to tell her what to give him. Reluctantly, I told her about some relaxing teas.

Please parents, make drugs the last resort. When I was growing up, ADD and ADHD didn't even exist. Some kids were hyper, and some kids were poor students. There's no question that drugs can make you calm and focused, but exercise and dietary changes are the answer.

Believe me, these drugs are dangerous. Nobody knows the long term effects, or what organs are being damaged on a daily basis. Give your children DHA from fish oil, try a couple of amino acids, or start an elimination diet.

All are superior to any synthetic pharmaceutical. ............Matt

Alternatives for ADHD

I read an interesting story about a school board member who sent home information to parents about nutritional alternatives to help their children conquer ADHD.

Vegetables for Vibrant Health

Twitter account? I've never heard of it before...I'll read about it.

I do eat too much meat, but the life of a vegetarian is not for me. I have too many geeky food allergies. No wheat, soy, potato, tomato, white rice, corn, and spinach since 1997. Believe me, you don't want to take me out for dinner. .........Matt

A Meaty Response

Jeez, no meat since Reagan's first year in office. That's impressive. I'm not even at Steve's level yet, but I'm getting better. I've written off porkchops and ham, and anything that resembles those previous pictures. Be careful, just thinking about processed meat can make you acidic.

Eliminate Sodium Nitrate

Story by NewsTarget

Hundreds of cancer researchers took part in a five-year project spanning more than 7,000 clinical studies and designed to document the links between diet and cancer. Their conclusion, published in the World Cancer Research Fund's report, Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity and the Prevention of Cancer: a Global Perspective (2007), has rocked the health world with a declaration that all people should immediately stop buying and eating processed meat products and that all processed meat should be avoided for life!

Processed meats, the report explains, are simply too dangerous for human consumption. And why? Because they contain chemical additives that are known to greatly increase the risk of various cancers, including colorectal cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, leukemia, brain tumors, pancreatic cancer and many more.

Sadly, the WCRF still does not recommend that consumers use nutritional supplements to help protect themselves from cancer, indicating that the group still has a lot to learn about the role of medicinal mushrooms, sea vegetables, microalgae, Chinese herbs, rainforest herbs and superfood extracts in preventing and reversing cancer. But at least the group's recommendation that consumers now avoid all processed meat products is a huge step in the right direction. It is the first time that any internationally-recognized cancer organization has found the courage to make a partial proclaimation about the health hazards of the chemicals found in processed meat products.

What is "processed meat" exactly? Processed meat has many ingredients and is usually packaged for long-term shelf life. These products almost always contain sodium nitrate, the cancer-causing chemical additive that meat companies use as a color fixer to turn their meat products a bright red "fresh-looking" color. Processed meat products include:• Bacon• Sausage• Pepperoni• Beef jerky• Deli slices• Hot dogs• Sandwich meat (including those served at restaurants)• Ham• Meat "gift" products like Christmas sausages• Meat used in canned soups• Meat used in frozen pizza• Meat used in kid's lunch products• Meat used in ravioli, spaghetti or Italian pasta products... and many more meat products.Unless it says "NITRITE FREE" on the front label, you can bet it's made with cancer-causing sodium nitrite!

I hate to say it, but I still eat bacon and pepperoni once a week. I do pre-cook the pepperoni and dump the nasty grease. It makes me feel better, but I'm still probably getting the same amount of sodium nitrate. Hydrogenated oils is a perfect example. It causes heart disease, and the food industry slowly and quietly started eliminating the trans fat from food products. Get educated on this subject and tell people. Eat Organic ........Matt

More Magnified Pictures of Meat

Here is an up close and personal shot of a Jimmy Dean sausage. I've actually choked down a couple of these before. This stuff is super nasty. All processed meat you buy at the grocery store is just like this. Cancer anyone? ........Matt

Need Testimonials

I'm trying to get some feedback on a couple of supplements. The first is fish oil. I only want to know how it relates to ADD/ADHD. Has your child's cognitive ability improved, etc?

The other is really a more general question. What is the best supplement for menopause? Is it black cohosh, vitex, or dong quai? There are also some new products out there that you may have tried. I can't comment on something I'm never going to take.

Post your testimonial if you have had experience with either of those items. ........Matt

Preventing Digestion Problems

Too many of us eat too much on Thanksgiving. Just because we over indulge, doesn't mean you have to feel miserable the rest of the day. Before you sit down and dig into Mr. Gobbles, take a digestive enzyme or two. You can thank me later.

Many of us lack both hydrochloric acid and pancreatic enzymes. This causes poor digestion of food and the minimal absorption of nutrients. Because of a diet of cooked, processed, and microwaved foods, the majority of people are enzyme deficient.

The most common symptoms of enzyme depletion are: burping, heartburn, gas, bloating, food allergies, and bowel issues. You know what I'm talking about. Constipation, aggravation, weak elimination.

Find a digestive enzyme that contains considerable amounts of amylase, lipase, and protease. These little guys will break down the carbs, fat, and protein. You won't feel so full and worthless after that big meal. Food that normally gives you problems, will be forgotten. You'll actually try to stuff down that third piece of pumpkin pie. In fact, you'll probably be ready to do it all over again a few hours later.

Seriously, this can be the best holiday season ever for you. No more heartburn, no more bloating, no weight gain. Well, I can't promise that you won't gain weight. After all, this is the fattest country on the planet.

Try it, you'll like it. There are plenty of different brands, but I like Enzymedica. They also have little rolls of chewable tablets taken after dinner. They usually contain papain, amylase, cellulase, lipase, and bromelain. They are weaker than the capsules, but you can carry them around like Rolaids.

I almost forgot. Enzymes are also great for reducing inflammation and increasing circulation. When you fall down the stairs at Grandma's tomorrow and twist your ankle because your gut's full of cheap wine and dry turkey, grab a bottle of digestive enzymes. They'll have you back on your feet and licking that gravy bowl before you know it.

Happy Thanksgiving .................Matt

Gov't Protects Drug Industry

I hope you're not getting sick of the Big Pharma bashing. I'm not. One more story before Thanksgiving. Oh, I didn't have any 20's on me for this photo, but this politician I know, had a wallet full. ...........Matt

(NewsTarget) Senators who received substantial donations from pharmaceutical companies were instrumental in making a new drug bill more industry-friendly, according to studies by nonprofit groups and remarks by some of the senators themselves. The bill, which passed the Senate 93-1 and now goes before the House of Representatives, was introduced in order to correct the errors in FDA procedure that allowed Merck's painkiller Vioxx to remain on the market for years, even after evidence began to amass that it led to potentially fatal heart attacks. It was based on recommendations by the Institute of Medicine, a division of the National Academy of Sciences.

While the institute's recommendation to allow the FDA to monitor the safety of products after approval was included in the final bill, it was significantly weakened at the instigation of Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H.. Gregg has received $168,500 from the pharmaceutical industry since 2001.Other recommendations fared even less well. A proposal to allow the importation of less expensive drugs from other countries was defeated 49-40. According to research by the Center for Responsive Politics and PoliticalMoneyLine, these 49 senators (less than 50 percent of the Senate) have received nearly 75 percent of the donations made by the drug industry since 2001, a total of $5 million.

In addition, a proposal to ban advertising of high-risk drugs for two years and another to curb conflicts of interest in the drug approval process were defeated by Senators who have received substantial industry contributions.Even the bill's main sponsors weakened its provisions to help the drug industry, by modifying a proposal that would have required that all clinical drug studies be made part of the public record, and not just those submitted to the FDA. Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass. has received $174,000 from the industry since 2001, and Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., has received $78,000."It's not that money buys votes," said Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who cast the only vote against the bill. "But you have a culture in which big money has significant influence. Big money gains you access, access gives you the time to influence people."

The pharmaceutical industry spends more on lobbying -- $855 million between 1998 and 2006 -- than any other industry in the United States, according to the Center for Public Integrity.

The Search for Flatter Abs

I had an interesting discussion with a doctor at Nat Yours this week. He had recently lost about 50 lbs from changing his diet and exercise habits. He purchased a bottle of pantethine, and asked if I knew that it was really effective for weight loss.

Apparently, pantethine, which is a derivative of B5, is an active component of coenzyme A which supports lipid metabolism. Or, it burns belly fat. He was convinced that it would work because he had read a study about the supplement's effectiveness. It makes sense, and it also lowers cholesterol for those of you who are trying to get off Lipitor.

I'll mention a couple of other fat burners. Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) reduces abdominal fat, preserves muscle tissue, and increases metabolic rate. I've heard a lot of good things about CLA, but you need to take about 3 grams for 3 months to get the most out of it. I'll start supplementing in January so I can get into my bikini by Memorial Day.

A new product by Garden of Life seems to be working for people. FucoThin is a natural thermogenic extracted from seaweed. It directly effects the adipose tissue which is a major storage site for fat. That's right, it targets that hideous gut lurking underneath your clothes.

All three of these will work. Try one or combine them, but stick with it for at least 3-6 months. Sorry about the picture if you just ate. Somebody needs to tell this guy that shaving your chest doesn't make you look thinner. ........................Matt

Forced Vaccinations

Parents Threatened With Jail Time For Not Vaccinating Children

MEDICAL TYRANNY IN MARYLAND: PARENTS THREATENED WITH JAIL TIME FOR NOT VACCINATING CHILDREN

By Mike Adams

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

This is an action item alert for all those who believe in health freedom. State and County officials in Maryland have announced they will send parents to jail if they don't submit their children to forced vaccinations. State Attorney General Glenn F. Ivey has announced he is willing to criminalize parents if they don't bring them to the courthouse to have them injected, on the spot, with vaccines that contain methyl mercury -- a highly toxic nerve chemical that causes brain damage and is linked to autism.

The action is backed by Circuit Judge William D. Missouri, Circuit Judge C. Philip Nichols Jr., and the chairman of the Prince George school board, R. Owen Johnson Jr.Together, these judges and officials have conspired to turn Maryland into a medical police state, invoking the threat of imprisonment in order to achieve a vaccination goal that has more to do with politics than children's actual health or safety. By threatening to imprison parents who object to the supposed health benefits of vaccinations, these state officials are effectively conspiring to cause thousands of children to be separated from their parents -- a move that would create a humanitarian and public health disaster.

This thought has not deterred Attorney General Glenn F. Ivey, who said, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way, but it's got to get done." That's the kind of quote that might be uttered by a corrupt police officer pointing a gun in your face and demanding that you do something you don't want to do. Actually, that's not far off base from what the state of Maryland is now asking parents to do: Submit to the harming of their children through the injection of a toxic chemical, all enforced at gunpoint.

These vaccines contain thimerosal, a chemical preservative made, in part, with toxic methyl mercury. This toxic substance was banned decades ago in many countries, but not in the U.S. where corrupt health officials cater to the financial interests of drug companies rather than protecting the public.

Thanks for the search engine update, but I can barely handle all the comments now.

I would like to say that if anybody does want to talk about something other than a current post, by all means, say it. I don't go back to old posts and look for comments after a week or so. If you don't get a response, then make a statement on a current post whether it's related or not. That's it for now. ................Matt

Fruits are Drugs?

This is an article by NewsTarget

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, continuing its campaign of censorship against truthfully-described herbal supplements, seized $71,000 worth of Charantea herbal supplements last week in a raid involving U.S. Marshals.

The company, Fulllife Natural Options, was accused by the FDA of marketing an "unapproved drug" due to the truthful marketing claims that accurately describe the blood sugar lowering effects of the product's main ingredient: Bitter Melon fruits.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, there is no such thing as an herb, food or supplement that has any biological activity whatsoever on the human body (other than simply providing calories), and any person who dares to make such a claim is immediately considered to be in violation of the FDA's authority. Any substance that has any therapeutic effect whatsoever on the human body is considered by FDA to be a "drug" and must be approved as such -- a lengthy process costing about $800 million and requiring the favor of an agency that practically works for Big Pharma.

The FDA is well known for its censorship efforts against nutritional supplements. Earlier this year, the agency sent threatening letters to 29 cherry growers, warning them to remove all links to scientific literature describing the anti-inflammatory effects of phytonutrients found in cherries. Merely linking to such studies from a web page, the FDA warned, instantly transformed cherries into drugs requiring FDA approval. The FDA believes that the dissemination of scientific information about the health benefits of fruits, vegetables and plants simply cannot be tolerated.

I understand that the Feds were going to cut down the cherry trees, but a chainsaw is considered to be an unapproved medical device. This article was not "approved by the FDA". .........Matt

Crestor Fails to Save Lives

Heart-failure patients who are given Crestor, a cholesterol-lowering statin drug, are just as likely to suffer from heart attacks, strokes, and other fatal cardiovascular problems as those on standard therapy alone.

Results of a 5,000-patient study showed that Crestor is, in fact, no better than a placebo when it comes to saving lives. Although Crestor's cholesterol-lowering ability is well-documented, the so-called CORONA study was the first to test whether the drug actually improves patient outcomes in the long run.

No statin has before been tested to assess its ability to protect heart-failure patients from fatal health consequences. In fact, trials of statins have traditionally excluded heart-failure patients.
Just another reason why you don't want to take drugs. ......................Matt

Get More Out of Your Workout

For those of you who enjoy jogging, biking, or any cardiovascular involved activity, try one of these supplements for an added boost of energy. The two that I use the most are L-carnitine and royal jelly.

L-carnitine is an amino acid that forces your body to use fat as an energy source. It is also great for your heart. The liquid carnitine is really the best to use because it absorbs very quickly. Otherwise, you'll need to wait about 45 minutes before the pills break down and enter your bloodstream. Around 1,5oo mg is good.

Royal jelly is full of B-vitamins and amino acids which you need to exercise efficiently. It reduces fatigue and increases endurance levels. I only use royal jelly in honey form, not the capsules. A couple of teaspoons will do.

Both of these supplements give you a huge advantage over anybody who doesn't know about them. I suggest you try both to see which one you like the best. You'll be able to run faster, bike longer, and really get the most out of any workout. .........Matt

Green Superfoods

Here's a good article that explains why everybody should go "green."

Wheat and Barley Grasses—especially wheat and barley grass—are distinguished by their brilliant emerald green hues. Before World War II, drug stores throughout the country, but especially in the grain-belt states of the Midwest, sold tablets of dried wheat or barley grass as a kind of primitive vitamin supplement. Today, young wheat and barley grasses are dried and powdered to make dietary supplements, or picked fresh to process in juicing machines.

At the early grass stage of their growth, wheat and barley are closer to vegetables than grains in composition. This is important to note because while I strongly discourage eating wheat and wheat products, I believe wheat grass is an excellent addition to your diet. The nutrient profiles of green cereal plants change quickly as they grow. As the plant grows, the chlorophyll, protein, and vitamin content of cereal grasses declines sharply and the level of cellulose (indigestible fiber) increases. Over a period of several months, the green leafy cereal grasses become amber waves of grain bearing the kernels we harvest to make into flour—an unhealthy, pro-inflammatory food.

There is very little nutritional difference between wheat grass and barley grass, although it is important to note that barley grass acts as a free radical scavenger that also reduces inflammation and pain, and wheat grass contains P4D1, a "gluco-protein" that acts like an antioxidant, reducing inflammation. It is also thought to be able to help the body attack cancer cells. You can get cereal grasses in powder or tablet form. Dried cereal grasses are certainly easier to handle than fresh, which must be juiced. However, fresh grass juice contains healthful enzymes not found in dried grass powder, and is likely to be higher in just about every phytonutrient found in cereal grass. Many juice bars and health-oriented markets offer these juices on their menus.

Blue-Green Algae (BGA): Spirulina, Chlorella and moreThe single-celled plants known as blue-green algae (BGA) are sold in health food stores as superior sources of protein, chlorophyll, carotenoid antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and disease-preventive phytonutrients. There are several types of BGAs, the most popular being spirulina and chlorella. The existing research, while lacking in many regards, suggests that BGAs exert some significant and perhaps unique preventive-health effects, most likely due to their polysaccharides, antioxidants, nucleic acids, and peptides. Preliminary evidence suggests that they have the following benefits:
Spirulina inhibits the infectious power of many viruses—including HIV, flu, mumps, enterovirus, measles, and herpes—probably because a sulfated polysaccharide called calcium spirulan prevents viruses from entering human cells.

Chlorella helps prevent cancer and the growth of tumors, probably because its glycoproteins enhance the migration of T cells to tumor sites
Chlorella binds to toxic heavy metals and dioxin and helps eliminate them from the body.
Chlorella protects the intestinal lining against peptic ulcersBoth Spirulina and Chlorella:
Help diminish allergies such as hay fever
Help protect the liver from toxins
Reduce blood pressure and cholesterol
Help control symptoms of ulcerative colitis
Exert strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects

BGAs are rich in essential fatty acids, phenolic antioxidants, chlorophyll, B vitamins, carotenoids and minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium and zinc. BGAs—especially spirulina—are also good sources of gamma linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid with many healthful properties, which some people’s bodies have trouble producing, and which is lacking in the standard American diet.

Alternative Treatment for Kidney Stones

I have heard about many kidney stone horror stories, and they're all the same. Lots of pain and repeated trips to the doctor.

It's time to learn how easy it is to get rid of those jagged clumps of calcium. That's right, about 85% of all kidney stones are made up of calcium. Why would your body have unabsorbed calcium deposits? You are deficient in magnesium. It's that simple. You must have plenty of magnesium in your system to absorb calcium, or you will form those sharp little deposits.

The next time you get the "stones", come into Naturally Yours and buy some powdered magnesium. Powdered, because it gets into your system easily. Take between 400-800mg a day. If you take too much magnesium, you'll get diarrhea, so reduce the amount a little. Also, pick up some vitamin B6 or a B-complex. This helps the entire process work better.

I recently tested this theory on a customer last week who was suffering from kidney stones. He said that he has had them before, and he was miserable again. I told him to get the magnesium and a B-complex because it will make the calcium absorb back into his body.

He walks in yesterday with a big smile on his face. The kidney stones were gone. He said he felt a little pain the second day after starting the magnesium supplement, but that was it. It works that fast.

And sir, if you are reading this right now, thanks for letting me know what happened. ...Matt

Cold Issues

Yes, the oregano oil has a very strong oregano taste. There is also a definite heat sensation when you place it in your mouth. Steve, I know you're a huge fan of the Olbas. Tips for the Cold Season

I've already talked about stopping a cold, but I want to mention a couple of other ideas you can use to prevent one. Basically, a virus or some evil bacteria will enter your system through your eyes, your nose, or your mouth. These are the areas you must protect.

Try this the next time somebody in you house is sick. Purchase some garlic oil softgels, wild oregano oil, and a goldenseal tincture. Bite down on the garlic and oregano softgels so the liquid coats the inside of your mouth. Or, put a few drops of goldenseal on your tongue. All three of these supplements have antiviral and antibacterial properties. They should be able to block and or kill the virus before it enters your body.

Oregano oil can be placed in each nostril although it burns temporarily. Anything entering your nose will have a hard time replicating. That's about it. It is really very simple and effective. I'm sure there are other herbal tinctures that work well, but this is what I have used.

If your cold starts in your eye, your guess is as good as mine. Just make sure it doesn't get into your nose and chest by practicing the above procedure.

I will say that many customers brag about elderberry, and it could be the best thing out there. I've always tried other herbs, so I'm the wrong person to ask. It does come in a syrup, so it should work the same.

........Matt

P.S. by Steven Streight:

My favorite cold remedy is Olbas Pastilles, a strong gummy bear type lozenge with powerful mint taste and nasal passage unblocking and throat soothing. Such miracle lozenge, it even helps with fever and other cold/flu symptoms.

Have been using Olbas Pastilles for over 30 years now. They have other products, but this is the only one I've tried, and it's all I need.

A wonderful product you can get at Naturally Yours.

Thousands of Medical Students Urge Schools to Eliminate Pharmaceutical Marketing InfluenceBy American Medical Student AssociationOct 22, 2007 - 3:35:33 PM

Email this article Printer friendly pageThousands of Medical Students Urge Schools to Eliminate Pharmaceutical Marketing InfluenceNational PharmFree Week Commences Today
(HealthNewsDigest.com) - RESTON, Va., -- Thousands of medical students join together this week, National PharmFree Week, calling upon medical schools to ban pharmaceutical marketing influence from their campuses.National PharmFree Week is sponsored by the American Medical Student Association (AMSA), the nation's largest, independent medical student organization. Over the course of the week, thousands of future physicians and healthcare leaders will hold events across the country, including:--

Capitol Hill Briefing: AMSA joins the National Physicians' Alliance and the Prescription Project to lobby on behalf of Senate Bill 2029. The legislation will require disclosure of payments to physicians by the pharmaceutical industry. (Monday, October 22, 2:30 p.m.)--

New Policy Announced at UConn: The University of Connecticut Medical Center will announce its new pharmaceutical policy. (Wednesday, October 24, 12 p.m.)-- FLIP Symposium: The symposium, being held at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will provide skills to become more critical, evidence-based prescribers. Guest speakers include several renowned leaders, including The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Editor in Chief Catherine DeAngelis. (Saturday, October 27, 9 a.m.)

About 90 percent of the pharmaceutical industry's $21 billion marketing budget is directed at physicians, according to JAMA. There are more than 90,000 pharmaceutical representatives that visit U.S. physicians and medical students, providing free lunches, gifts, marketing paraphernalia and free medication samples. These enticements are designed to influence doctors to prescribe more drugs and more expensive drugs and have often become a substitute for objective medical evidence."These marketing practices, including the growing number of "ask your doctor" commercials, has led to over-medicating the U.S. population," says Michael Ehlert, M.D., AMSA national president. "There is substantial evidence that marketing shapes physician prescribing habits.

By eradicating pharmaceutical marketing from all medical schools, hospitals and academic medical centers, physicians will be able to go back to practicing evidence-based medicine."Launched in 2002, AMSA's PharmFree Campaign teaches medical students how to ethically interact with the pharmaceutical industry. Earlier this year, AMSA released its PharmFree Scorecard, a first-of-it's-kind ranking of medical schools according to their pharmaceutical policies.

AMSA remains one of the few national organizations to ban all pharmaceutical advertisements and sponsorships. National PharmFree Week is supported by The Medical Letter.

Natural Growth Hormone Releasers

Let me first say, that I'm finished with the growth hormone spray I started last month. If you remember, I was taking GH for tendinitis in my right elbow. I have to admit, I was also curious about the anti-aging benefits claimed by all growth hormone producers. My elbow felt fine after about 10 days, but it was hard to judge just how well the GH worked. I didn't start the supplement for 6 weeks after the injury, but from my past experiences, the soreness would have continued for another 6 weeks.

Do I think that GH can speed up healing time? Absolutely. Can I prove it? Hardly. But, it was very, very interesting. Common sense tells me that it is very effective.

And what about the other anti-aging benefits? Is it really the "fountain of youth?" Once again, I can't prove it, but most likely it is an option worth considering.

After three weeks, I stopped. I seemed to get a dull headache during the day when I used it the night before. Maybe it was a coincidence, maybe it was a combination of supplements, and maybe it was the brand of GH (oral spray with multiple parabens) I was using. Hard to say. But I will say this. More energy, better sleep, vivid dreams. My crow's feet are still pronounced, but I am positive that I saw a slight improvement in the mirror. I'm sure that GH can really take the years off, but I don't have the desire or the bank account to see what this stuff can really do. And that brings me to the second part of this post.

The most natural way to release your own growth hormone (no side effects) is to take two amino acids before you go to bed. Those amino acids are arginine and ornithine.

arginine- the body's main source for creating nitric oxide (NO), has the ability to dilate blood vessels, used for decreasing blood pressure, and libido (sexual dysfunction like E.D.)

ornithine- has anticatabolic effects, enhances muscle building, and increases the ability to heal

Dosage is between 2-10 grams each. The most effective form so far is arginine alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG), and ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate (OKG). Take it before you go to bed, because your body releases natural growth hormone the most between 10pm and 2am.

We don't have the AKG and OKG forms at the store, but they are easily found. We also do not have ornithine as a single item at the store. It is only in combination with arginine at a 2:1 ratio because it is usually taken for the exact reasons that I mentioned above.

The dosage is really the key. Nobody knows for sure what the therapeutic dose actually is. I have had success with 2-3 grams each, but 8-10 might be far better. And that's where the problem is. The most common arginine/ornithine combination comes in 500/250mg capsules. You would need to take at least 6-20 pills before you crawl underneath the covers. That's no fun. I advise pulling multiple capsules apart and mixing with juice or milk. It doesn't taste that bad. Or, how bad do you want to turn back the clock? The cost is your choice. Expect to spend $20-75 per month.

The combination of arginine and ornithine help release growth hormone, which increases muscle mass, stimulates fat-burning, reduces recovery time, and prevents premature aging. Please post results if you decide to try it. ...............................Matt
