This just in. The store in Bloomington/Normal is open for business. It's bigger, better, and they plan on selling organic beer and wine. (no Miller or Budweiser swill available)
I have to say, I didn't try the bee pollen for the hay fever. My allergies have been much better than expected. There were a couple days that were pretty rough, but otherwise few problems. The IP6 is doing it's job, but something else I'm taking is really working. I've added 600 mg of alpha lipoic acid, 2,000 mg of vitamin C, an occasional probiotic, and some acai and coffee berry. It's a combination that I'm sticking with for the next month. ..........................Matt

You're right, "guerilla project", salba is chia, but salba makes it sound special. I still need to try it anyway. It's just one more thing to buy to keep me healthy. I'd like to take it before and after a "fast" to check out it's potential.
"Naturally Potent", your product sounds juicy. There's lots of competition out there. Good luck.

Omega Seeds

First flax, then chia, now salba. Salba seeds ( Salvia hispanica L.) come from the mint family and originate in South America. The health benefits from this seed are just being realized here in the U.S. This superfood is high in essential fatty acids (omega 3's), fiber, and protein. Add them to your cereal or salad just like flax. To find out more about the brand we carry at the store, go to

Avoid the Radura

The other day, the FDA announced that lettuce and spinach will be irradiated to protect the public from harmful bacteria. They say the radiation is perfectly safe and healthy, and doesn't alter the food in any way. Clearly, the FDA, who is always financially motivated, is putting the consumer at risk, because their advice is simply stupid. It's amazing to me that some people still think the FDA is a credible organization. Maybe, if we ignore them, they'll simply go away.
The symbol above means the product sucks. Don't put it in your mouth or give it to your pet rabbit. Accidentally drop it on the ground, and kick it down the aisle. The grocery store won't charge you for it....accidents happen.
This website explains radiation food better than I could. Avoid the Radura. .
(excerpts from sustainabletable.org)
During food irradiation, food is exposed to very high doses of radiation, in the form of gamma rays, X-rays or electron beams. Irradiation can kill nearly all bacteria in food, both good and bad. The main purpose of food irradiation is to preserve foods and extend the shelf life of products.
Food irradiation creates food safety issues that are far more serious than those posed by microwaving. The large amount of energy contained in the ionizing radiation used in food irradiation allows for complex chemical changes to occur in food components, including the production of mutagenic or carcinogenic substances which were found in very small amounts or were not present at all before irradiation.
The long-term health consequences of eating irradiated food are still unknown. Irradiation creates a complex series of reactions that literally rip apart the molecular structure of the food. This process creates known carcinogens like benzene and other toxic chemicals including toluene.v Also, irradiation byproducts called 2-ACBs, which do not occur naturally in any food, have been linked to cancer development in rats vii and genetic damage in human cells.viii Other serious health problems have been observed in animals fed irradiated foods, including premature death, mutations, stillbirths, organ damage and nutritional deficiencies.
The agriculture industry is trying to use food irradiation as a quick fix to a much larger problem created by their own factory farms. The overcrowded and unsanitary conditions on factory farms make animals more susceptible to disease and injury, and can increase the levels of pathogens in their bodies. The filthy conditions in slaughterhouses where animals are killed at an extremely fast pace, endanger the health of people who eat that meat.
Remember, you are being lied to every day by agencies created for your protection. Spread the word. ..............Matt

This and That

The ragweed pollen is brutal today. I'm sitting inside my house, next to an air purifier, with Kleenex up my nose, waiting for my IP6 to kick in. A supplement that was generously given to me, did nothing for my allergies. I didn't think it would, but it was free. Is bee pollen that good? I'll find out on Tuesday.
"The FDA has said no significant difference has been shown and no test can now distinguish milk from rBGH treated and untreated cows. Whey protein, used as a stabilizer, is not subject to this claim."
That statement was taken off a "natural" container of yogurt. Please don't believe that claim. The FDA is very confused. Do your own research and don't buy anything but organic.
The official opening of the store in Bloomington/Normal has been delayed. We're shooting for the Spring of 2010, now. .........Matt

Doctor Horror Stories Part Deux
Thanks a lot to the overseas jerks who infected my computer. Don't you computer geeks have anything better to do? I'll admit, your virus was very sophisticated. Next time, use your knowledge to find yourself a computer animated date.
It probably seemed like that last post was a "cliffhanger", but it wasn't meant to be. I can't believe I didn't get any comments from that story. Sure the situation sucked, but you have to have a sense of humor about it.
That brings me to my second story. This one is even more bizarre.
Remember, I told you that Farmington had two doctors. You've already read my experience with the woman. Now it's time for my adventure with the male doctor who actually had an office.
Fast forward 15 years. There was a black mole on the back of my arm that I wanted to remove. It was supposed to be a simple procedure. I've had it done before. They give you a shot to numb the area, and then they burn that sucker off. It's quick and easy.
He walks in, and looks at the mole. He then asks me to remove my shirt. It seemed like an honest request, but I had a short sleeved shirt on that didn't cover the mole. But I thought, all right, maybe he just wants to get a better angle on it. So I take my shirt off. Doctor's orders, right? He walks around the table pretending to look at other moles which is fine. My shirt is already off, so why not check out some of the moles on my back.
Then, things started to get weird. He says, "Why don't you take those pants off." And I thought to myself.... the mole is on my tricep, dude. It's really easy to find. I can point to it again if you like. Well, he is the doctor. Who am I to question his authority?
I slid my pants off. Somehow, he had convinced me that a patient needs to be dressed only in underwear before he performs his mole removal procedure. The nurse walks in and she sees me sitting on the table in my underwear. I could tell she was confused about my predicament. After all, the growth was on my arm, not my thigh. Instead of calling the police, she rubbed my mole with alcohol and walked out.
Dr. Strange continues to circle me like a fox circles a hen house. "You need to take those off too", he said. Really? You want me to sit here naked while you work on my arm. I looked him in the eye and said, "I don't think that's necessary." I could tell he was taken back by my comment. He expected me to be nude by now. Sorry Doc, it's not going to happen. He quickly torched the mole and left the room.
It was a good thing he left when he did. Otherwise, he'd spend the rest of the day looking for a good dentist. I think they named a park after this guy. He's a real pillar of the community. My hero. Now you know why a third of a doctor's salary goes to malpractice insurance.
What's the point of these two stories? Doctor's don't always give the best advice, and don't get naked unless you really want to. ........Matt

Doctor Horror Stories Part 1

As I was driving to work today, I passed one of the 75 Methodist buildings in town, and noticed a sign for "school physicals." I immediately had a flashback to my younger days about a horrible memory that haunts me to this day.
The year was 1980. The place: Farmington. For those of you who don't know about Farmington, let me explain. Today, it's a town of 3,000. In 1980, the population was 3,100. Things are progressing slowly.
There were a total of two doctors in town. One male..one female..both old. Parents who chose to save money, scheduled physicals with the woman, not because she was less educated, but because she worked out of her house. I guess she had a license, but I wasn't worried about that. And I'm sure she was experienced, but that didn't matter.
Each year, my brother and I would make the long walk to her house. We didn't talk. We were both thinking the same thing. Just get it over with, and things will be better soon.
Imagine walking into a living room which was actually a waiting room. The windows were without drapes, because she had sewn them together to form a makeshift room divider....the waiting room on one side...the examining room on the other. It was the only barrier separating you from the other parents and kids.
We went in together. It was easier that way. Without hesitation, she grumbled, "drop your pants." Then, she'd reach out with her cold, veiny claw and say, "turn your head and cough."
Again, again, again." That's when the curtain would open up from curiosity seeking kids. Things couldn't get much worse.
Again, again, again." That's when the curtain would open up from curiosity seeking kids. Things couldn't get much worse.
I thought to myself...How about turn your head and run. I don't want to play basketball that bad, and I don't even start. Do I really have to pay you to watch me get naked in your living room every year? She should be paying me, right?
I gladly turned my head in humiliation, to embarrassed to notice the stink of rubbing alcohol and vomit from frightened children. I gagged as she shoved the wooden tongue depressor deep in my mouth. My eyes started to water. The tears of joy streamed down my face as I pulled my pants up.
I'll stop there. I hope this story brightens up your day. I, on the other hand, will be curled up in the fetal position sucking my thumb. If you find that story disturbing, just wait until tomorrow.

Don't Medicate Your Child

I talked with a lady yesterday about her 9 year old daughter diagnosed with ADD. Her physician wants to place the girl on drugs, which is why she called the store in desperation. I told the mother to not give her daughter the prescription, but instead, change her diet and consider certain supplements.
I think I convinced her to go in a different direction. Few, if any of these kids, actually need medication. Often, the cause of ADD/ADHD is poor nutrition, chemicals in the food, lack of exercise, or environmental factors. Drugs will only make things much, much worse. ..............Matt

Already, the supplement market in Germany and Norway are severely controlled, and it is illegal, for example, to buy Vitamin C over 200mg in strength because it is considered by Brussels to be unnecessary, although of course, it is very necessary for the population to continue to buy cigarettes and alcohol as they are very healthy for governments' bank accounts. I have just heard (10/3/04) from a very reliable source that a woman has been arrested in France for selling 500mg tablets of Vitamin C because in that country doses of that strength are now considered medicinal! (There is absolutely no safety issue with Vitamin C and you can freely buy 1000mg tablets here in the UK and US at the moment… I take 3 a day.) Soon, these sorts of controls will be pan-European, and you will only be able to buy from a small and bland list of ineffective, inorganic supplements and in doses that the EU diktat considers appropriate. Many innovative products and companies will simply disappear, and it will become much harder for each of us to take responsibility for our health.(energygrid.com)

Rape Seed's No Grape Seed

It looks like I'm getting off canola oil. I've always heard it was bad for you, but I never wanted to search the Internet to see for myself. It's worse than I thought. Read the information here, or check out some other sites.
The government, doctors, and the canola industry say the oil is safe. Safe enough to lube your car.

Sad But True
I spoke with a lady the other day. Her husband has liver cancer. Their oncologist told them..."if you get on the Internet and look for alternative treatments, you're going to have to find a new doctor." I told her "it's time to get a new doctor."

Well, At Least It's Cold

We sell water at the store for 35 cents a gallon. You can't beat the price, but is it clean? Thankfully, it is. I test it weekly, and change the filters. It's the only water I drink. I use a device that measures the total dissolved solids (TDS) part per million contained in the water. The process consists of reverse osmosis, deionization, and ultraviolet light which gets rid of most of the bad stuff. Peoria water comes out of your faucet at an average of 485 (TDS). Once our filtration process is complete, our tasty water flows out at 25 (TDS). You can taste the difference.
Customers bring in jars of water and commercial bottled water to have it tested. Most are shocked when they learn about the high amounts of TDS. Bottled water is usually around 150 and everything else is normally higher. But, what about well water? It's supposed to be better for you, but that's not always the case.
My wife grew up on well water. Her parents still drink it today. Our family was "lucky" enough to have both options, even though we drank mostly city water. The purity of well water depends on the surrounding area. Well water in town will have different contaminants than water found in rural areas. Do you live in an industrial area, or is your yard sprayed with "ChemLawn" during the summer? Worse yet, do you live on a farm where pesticides, herbicides, and livestock runoff seep into your ground water? The midwest is known as the cornbelt. I've actually heard it described as the lymphoma belt.
My in laws don't farm, but their well is roughly 25 feet from a cornfield. ..... a genetically modified cornfield saturated with pesticides and herbicides. We're going to have it tested for them. I suggest you do the same. Supplements won't do you any good if you're drinking poison every day. ....................Matt

Ragweed A Drag Indeed

After five years, my allergies have basically ceased to exist due to changes in diet and certain supplements. Unfortunately for me, I still have not been able to solve my hay fever dilemma which starts next week. Well, I shouldn't say that. I know that IP6 works wonders, but it takes six capsules per day to keep me from being miserable. Obviously, I'd like to find something cheaper and more effective, but so far, that supplement has eluded me.
A couple of weeks ago, I was given a new supplement to try. I don't think it will make a difference, but it was free, and I know it's good for so many other issues. Successful or not, I'll tell you what it is at a later date. I'll hold off on my comments until I finish the bottle.
If it doesn't work, then I'll go back to the IP6, but it will be the IP6 with maitake and cat's claw. This combination should boost my immune system even more. Maybe, I can get away with four capsules per day.
I've always thought about trying bee pollen, because it's cheap and I hear good things about it. Let me know if you've had any experience with that or anything else that is very strong. And please, I don't want to hear anything about sustained release tablets. ....................Matt

Morgellons Crawling Closer?

A new skin disease called "Morgellons" is spreading and nobody understands what it is. The symptoms consist of skin lesions that do not heal, a stinging, crawling skin sensation, fibers of foreign material on or under the skin, mental confusion, memory loss, and joint pain. Thousands of people are reporting this unexplained illness, and doctors are baffled.
The "bugs" resemble colorful fibers that move around and erupt from the skin causing open sores and horrendous suffering. It can literally drive a person insane. Typically, most physicians diagnose the patient with Delusions of Parasitosis (DP). DP is characterized as a psychiatric illness of delusional parasitic infestation. The disease is real. Is it a natural phenomenon or man made? This infected person tells his story.
"I noticed bumps on my skin, itchy, little bumps 4 years ago. They turned into open sores. Sores had larval things, it appeared they were in different life stages. The larval things turned out to be(some of them) tightly wound wads of 'string'. This string would unwind, and begin searching around for something; the end of the 'string' would rise up & actually move around like it was looking for something! I'd place a string on each index fingertip, hold them say 2 inches apart & watch them try to reach each other. I moved my fingers so the tips were touching, the strings would seem to be checking each other out, coiling around, with one trying to dominate the other. One would grasp the other & hang on, if you looked very closely, there was a movement within the string, looked like a tiny bubble, like it was transferring something to the other string. These 'strings' are translucent, barely visible, white, blue, pinkish. None of the doctors can tell me what this stuff is growing in my body. One wrote me an antibiotic 'script, others said it was scabies. These strings are in my eyes, ears, nose,my skin, nether parts as well. This is a very real thing. I hope Kaiser & the CDC tells us what their findings are. Truthfully. I've tried the poisons, seven liquid & powder, dog shampoos for mange,Skin so Soft bath oil, coconut oil,tea soaks, vinegar soaks, bleach soaks, salt baths, more vitamins, less vitamins, antibiotics. The coconut oil brings up tons of the 'strings',the antibiotic helps with the swelling & itching only as long as I'm taking it.I have dark scars,if I scratch a scar the cycle starts over."
Luckily, the CDC, a health insurance company, and the U.S. Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, will investigate the situation. We all know how clumsy and unfit the CDC is, so don't expect much from them. But, why is the military involved?
Conspiracy theorists will tell you that these fibers come from chemtrail spraying carried out by the military. That's a topic for a different blog, but it's interesting enough to mention here. I just try to keep people informed about solutions to many health problems. Believe what you want, but now you know what to look for. Oh, and go buy some silver. .................Matt

The Smell Of Success

A man with terminal liver cancer came in the other day. The first time I met him was four years ago after the doctor told him he had 3 months to live. He comes in periodically to buy his supplements and continues to focus on nutrition as a cure for his disease. We talked for a long time because I'm always interested in his condition. He looks healthy, he feels good, and he still refuses to follow the conventional treatment of chemo, radiation, and surgery.
His doctors don't understand why he is alive, and still call him to come in for chemo and a liver transplant. You would think that these doctors would try to find out how he has successfully stopped and reversed his cancer without using traditional advice. Instead, they ignore it. They don't want to know what he takes, and they're not going to tell anybody else. Their reaction is typical. I've heard it many times from other cancer survivors who embraced alternative treatments.
During our conversation, he told me that a person with cancer has a distinct odor. He said he had that smell too for a couple of months, but doesn't have it anymore. I've never noticed that, and I hope I never do. If anybody wants to talk with this guy let me know. He'd be glad to tell you his story. .........Matt
Product Showcase

Promoting products is part of this blog, especially when they're good. Normally, most people don't hear about obscure companies with limited resources for advertising. I feel that it's my job to inform you these innovative, nutritional alternatives that you and your family, and even your pet, can use for a healthy future.
The first one is a soft drink that uses stevia and erythritol as sweeteners instead of aspartame and splenda. This company also uses natural caffeine which is why I'll buy it. Don't worry, there's no high fructose corn syrup either.
Feed your pet healthier food and they will live longer, healthier lives. Organic pet food, or vet bills. It's an easy decision.
