Metal On My Mind

Is heavy metal toxicity the real cause of Alzheimer's Disease? Do people exposed to chronic, low-dose mercury and or aluminum suffer from dementia and Alzheimer's later on if life? I'm starting to believe it. Heavy metal accumulation causes a variety of health problems and this particular theory deserves much more investigation.

The evidence of aluminum in the brain as a causative factor in Alzheimer’s disease is growing. Both aluminum and silicone have been detected in the neurofibrillary tangles and senile plaques of Alzheimer’s patients. Canadian research investigators call Alzheimer’s disease, "Aluminum Dementia." Chelation therapy reduces the amount of heavy metal toxicity in the body, including the brain. Aluminum is one of the heavy metals that chelation therapy will remove. Another cause of dementia in the elderly is insufficient blood and oxygen flow to the brain. Much of this is due to the presence of atherosclerotic disease. Research and clinical experience over the last 50 years has demonstrated significant benefits when using the specific chelator know as "Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid" (EDTA). Alternative-care minded medical doctors belonging to the "International College of Integrated Medicine," the "American Board of Chelation Therapy," and the "International Board of Chelation Therapy," all agree as to the effectiveness of EDTA against atherosclerotic diseases. (The AMA and FDA do not agree.)

(pages.prodigy.net)

The research conducted at the University of Calgary Faculty of Medicine found that exposure to mercury caused the formation of “neurofibrillar tangles,” which are one of the two diagnostic markers for Alzheimer’s disease. Previous research has shown that mercury can cause the formation of the other Alzheimer’s disease marker, “amyloid plaques.” The scientists also exposed the test nerves to other elements, including aluminum, but found that only mercury caused the damage consistent with Alzheimer’s disease."http://www.whale.to/m/alzheimers.html

"Dental mercury amalgams are not stable…they undergo CORROSION, and dangerous amounts of MERCURY VAPOR are daily released….that may be inhaled by the lungs and in that way enter the general blood circulation and pass into the whole body. However far more dangerous are similarly released mercurial FUMES, which instead settle down on the mucous membranes in the upper region of the NASAL CAVITY, from where the mercury is transported directly to the brain! These pathways are either by the OLFACTORY NERVES or by the valve-less cranial VENOUS system that presents an open venous communication between the oro-nasal cavity and the brain."—Patrick Stortebecker, M.D., Ph.D. (curezone.com)

There are many more opinions, and as always, the debate rages on. Your loved one may respond well to a heavy metal detox program. Do some research, and consider the alternative.

I thought this was good too. A lot of people want to have their fillings removed, but it's hard to find a dentist who is willing to take them out. Here's why:

American Dental Association Resolution 42H-1986

"The removal of amalgam restorations from the non-allergic patient for the alleged purpose of removing toxic substances from the body when such treatment is performed solely at the recommendation of the dentist is improper and unethical."

The ADA's code of ethics is a lot like the AMA's code of ethics.

Product Info

Dr Oz has made the acai berry more popular than ever. We can't keep the shelves stocked, but we currently have one brand of acai juice by "Dynamic Health Labs", and three brands of pills. Yesterday, a new powdered formula from Sambazon called "powerscoop", arrived and I'm looking forward to trying it.

A new wheatgrass supplement from "Pines International" is on sale this month, so take advantage of that. And last but not least, we now carry neem again.(the oil and the capsules) There are so many things going on this week, I can't keep up. .........Matt

Not Worthy Of A Title

A special thanks to Jarrow Formulas for donating a bottle of lactoferrin to the cause. My immune system hasn't worked better. After my scathing report on soy, my wife, who has been vegetarian for the last seven months, has eaten chicken three times. That means...I've had three meals cooked for me this month. Mission accomplished. And finally, I'm starting to eat chlorella like candy, to make sure once and for all, that no heavy metals will be left inside me. I take a handful before I go to bed, and I think I feel different in the morning. But, that could be the fo-ti that I've also been experimenting with.

Hope On The Horizon

It was announced that the first embryonic stem-cell trial has been approved by the FDA. Until Friday, limits on federal funding and restrictions had prevented testing on humans, even though stem cells could repair diseased organs and reverse paralysis. The Geron Corporation is beginning it's phase I trial with 10 patients, and although most companies don't get beyond phase I, we can only hope that their results are not ridiculed and buried by the FDA. Buying stock in this company could be a good idea. It was up almost $2 on Friday. ...................Matt

Supplements For Down Syndrome?

What do you do for a nine year old girl with Down Syndrome? That was the question I had yesterday. The father had a printout from the Internet about different supplements to try, and his doctor was working with him. He wanted a standardized form of ginko biloba, a form of choline, folic acid, B-12, omega 3, another prescription that I can't remember, and Prozac for the girl's anxiety.

I've never had anybody ask me about Down Syndrome in six years, and therefore, have never studied the subject. I showed him the best brands we had, and told him to wait on the choline to see if she showed any improvement first. He's going to be coming back in, so if anybody has any ideas on this, I'd like to hear it. I should mention that I wrote down some other items he might want to research: etherium gold, Sam-E, huperzine A, and vinpocetine. These could help even more. ............................Matt

Soy Sorry

You know, I'm glad I'm allergic to soy. When you start doing your own research, and ignore mainstream media, you can actually find out the truth on almost any subject. Take soybeans, for example. It was originally used for industrial purposes here in the States, but over the years, has entered our food supply at alarming rates. (I'm not even going to talk about the fact that over 90% of the soybeans in the U.S. are genetically modified) The only benefits from soy come directly from the soy industry so they can sell more soy.

This is what I found out, and please do your own research if you don't like what I have to say, because I know there's an army of vegetarians who love their nearly melted soy cheese. To put it in the simplest terms... Guys, if you eat too much soy, you will turn into a woman and become infertile. Gals, if you eat too much soy, you will bombard your body with excess estrogen and drive everybody insane..... and you'll blow your thyroid out, punish your pancreas, and shrink your brain. O.K., so maybe the research is a little more politically correct, but you're not going to get healthy be sugarcoating things.

The more I think about it,... I have never, ever, walked into a neighbor's backyard garden and said, "Nice heirloom tomatoes, and your "Roundup Ready" soybean plants are stunning. I suppose it's because your average gardener doesn't have the necessary processing equipment and enough hexane solvent to extract the minuscule amount of goodness inside that wretched bean. Either way, now you have both sides of the story, and I suggest that you pretend like you're allergic to soy and pull those plants up by the roots.

These experts say it best:

Hundreds of epidemiological, clinical and laboratory studies link soy to malnutrition, digestive distress, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders, cognitive, immune system breakdown, and even heart disease and cancer. Contrary to popular belief that soy is a health food, evidence reveals that soy consumption has been linked to numerous disorders, including infertility, increased cancer and infantile leukemia, Type1 diabetes, and precocious puberty in children have been fed soy formula. (early maturation, such as breast development and menstruation as early as 6 years of age). Scientists have known for years that the isoflavones in soy products can depress thyroid function and cause goiters in otherwise healthy children and adults. A combined research team of Cornell University Medical College and Long Island Community Hospital medical experts have found that children who develop Type1 diabetes are twice as likely to have been fed soy formulas as those fed all other foods.(Shirley's Wellness Cafe)

"Soy formula is one of the worst foods that you could feed your child. Not only does it have profoundly adverse hormonal effects as discussed above, but it also has over 1000% more aluminum than conventional milk based formulas. (Dr. Mercola)

The soybean contains large quantities of natural toxins or "antinutrients". First among them are potent enzyme inhibitors that block the action of trypsin and other enzymes needed for protein digestion. These inhibitors are large, tightly folded proteins that are not completely deactivated during ordinary cooking. They can produce serious gastric distress, reduced protein digestion and chronic deficiencies in amino acid uptake. In test animals, diets high in trypsin inhibitors cause enlargement and pathological conditions of the pancreas, including cancer.(Sally Fallon and Mary G. Enig, PhD)

Frequently consuming foods containing soy may contribute to memory loss, British experts say. Experts at England's Loughborough and Oxford Universities researched the impact of soy consumption in 719 senior citizens on the Indonesian island of Java, the Daily Mail reported Saturday. Researchers determined people who ate soy at least twice a day had 20 percent less memory function that those who ate it significantly less.

"In September of this year, researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health presented evidence at the 63rd annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine showing that soy phytoestrogens can seriously lower a man’s sperm count. Semen analyses showed that the men with the highest levels of soy food intake-approximately a half serving per day-had 41 million sperm per milliliter fewer than men who did not consume any soy-that’s 41 million fewer sperm per milliliter on just one-half cup of soy food per day! (Kaayla T. Daniel, PhD)

Thank you "allergic response". I've cursed you for the last 12 years, but now, I'm almost learning to like it. ....................Matt

Silver Targeted

All of you silver lovers out there might find this disturbing. The EPA is thinking about regulating silver as a pesticide! Sound crazy. Read on. .................Matt

In May of 2008 the International Center for Technology Assessment (ICTA) and the Center for Food Safety (CFS) filed a legal petition with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on behalf of a coalition of public interest organizations. The petition calls for the EPA to regulate nano-silver products as pesticides. The legal petition requests that EPA assess the safety of these materials to the public and the environment before permitting them to be marketed. The petition also calls on the agency to require safety data from manufacturers, to require mandatory and approved labeling, and last demands that the agency stop the sale of nano-silver products currently on market until the agency can properly assess their impacts.(silvermedicine.org)

Since EPA depends heavily upon public comments when deciding upon new regulatory action, it is vitally important that they get to hear the views of those who do NOT want to see nanosilver further regulated by the EPA as a "new pesticide." You have only until January 20th to submit comments to the EPA against the proposal by radical environmental groups that want the EPA to immediately begin regulating nanosilver (read: colloidal silver) as a "pesticide" -- an action that could remove colloidal silver from the market at some point in time.

You can forward your comments directly to the EPA, using one of the following ways: Send your comments by fax or email directly to the EPA Administrator, Mr. Stephen Johnson: Email: johnson.stephen@epa.gov

Fax: 202-501-1450Be sure to reference Docket # EPA-HQ-OPP-2008-0650, and state that your comments pertain to the “Petition for Rulemaking Requesting EPA Regulate Nanoscale Silver Products as Pesticides.”There's also a page on the EPA web site that says comments can be sent by mail to the following address:Office of Pesticide Programs (OPP) Regulatory Public Docket (7502P)Environmental Protection Agency

The Ralph Moss Story

(excerpted from www.cancerdecisions.com and from the book "Cancer, Step Outside the Box"

In his own words........

In 1974, I began working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the world's leading cancer treatment hospital. The job at Memorial Sloan-Kettering seemed like a dream come true for me. I wanted to be part of the winning team that finally beat cancer. Within three years, I had risen to the position of Assistant Director of Public Affairs at the hospital. You can imagine how thrilled I was, but something soon happened that changed the course of my of my life forever.

A big part of my job as Assistant Director of Public Affairs was to write press releases for the media about cancer news and to write the in-hospital newsletter. I also handled calls from the press and public about cancer issues. So, I was just doing a normal day's work when I began interviewing an esteemed scientist at the hospital for a newsletter article I was working on. It turned out that the scientist, Dr. Kanematsu Sugiura, had repeatedly gotten positive results shrinking tumors in mice studies with a natural substance called amygdalin (you may have heard of it as "laetrile" or vitamin B-17, or apricot seeds) Excitedly, I told my discovery of Sugiura's work to the Public Affairs Director and other superiors, and laid out my plans for an article about it. Then I got the shock of my life.

They insisted that I stop working on the story immediately and never pick it up again. Why? They said that Dr. Sugiura's work was invalid and totally meaningless. But I had seen the results with my own eyes. And I knew Dr. Sugiara was a true scientist and an ethical person. Then my bosses gave me the order that I'll never forget: They told me to lie. Instead of the story I had been planning to write, they ordered me to write an article and press releases for all the major news stations emphatically stating that all amygdalin studies were negative and that the substance was worthless for cancer treatment. I protested and tried to reason with them, but it fell on deaf ears.

I will never forget how I felt that day. My head was spinning with a mixture of strong feelings- confusion, shock, disappointment, fear for my own livelihood and my family's future, and behind it all, a intense need to know why this cover-up was happening. I decided to put off writing any amygdalin press releases as long as I could while I discreetly looked into the whole thing some more on my own. Everyone at the office seemed happy just to drop the whole thing, and we got busy with other less controversial projects.

So, in the next few months, I was able to do my own investigating to answer the big question I couldn't let go of: Who were these people I worked for and why would they want to suppress positive results in cancer research? My files grew thick as I uncovered more and more fascinating and disturbing facts. I had never given any thought to the politics of cancer before. Now, I was putting together the pieces.

The people on Sloan-Kettering's Board of Director's were a "Who's Who" of investors in petrochemical and other polluting industries. In other words, the hospital was being run by people who made their wealth by investing in the worst cancer-causing things on the planet.

CEO's of top pharmaceutical companies that produced cancer drugs also dominated the Board. They had an obvious vested interest in promoting chemotherapy and undermining natural therapies.

The Chairman and the President of Bristol-Myers Squibb, the world's leading producer of chemotherapy, held high positions on the MSKCC's Board.

Of the nine members of the Hospital's powerful Institutional Policy Committee, seven had ties to the pharmaceutical industry.

The Hospital itself invested in the stock of these same drug companies.

Directors of the biggest tobacco companies in the U.S., Phillip Morris and RJR Nabisco held places of honor on the Board.

Six Board Directors also served on the Boards of The New York Times, CBS, Warner Communications, Readers Digest, and other media giants.

Not, surprisingly, profits from the chemotherapy drugs were skyrocketing and the media glowingly promoted every new drug as a "breakthrough" in cancer. Meanwhile, the public's interest in laetrile refused to go away. A lot of people were going across the border to Mexican cancer clinics to get the stuff and my secretary's phone was ringing off the hook with people wanting to know what Sloan-Kettering thought of its value. I was once again told to give out the news that the studies had all been negative.

I decided I couldn't lie on behalf of the Hospital. In November of 1977, I stood up at a press conference and blew the whistle on Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's suppression of positive results with amygdalin. I had no doubt I was doing the right thing. I was fired the next day for "failing to carry out his most basic responsibilities" as the Hospital described it to the New York Times. In other words, failing to lie to the American people.

When I tried to pick up my things in my office, I found my files had been padlocked and two armed hospital guards escorted me from the premises. Luckily for all of us, I have a very smart wife who all along had been making copies of my research notes and had put a complete extra set of files in a safe place. Those notes turned into my first book, "The Cancer Industry", which is still in print and available.

That dramatic day, when I stood up in front of the packed press conference and told the truth, was the beginning of a journey I never could have predicted. I was launched on a mission that I'm still on today- helping cancer patients find the truth about the best cancer treatments. In retrospect, my experiences as an insider in "the cancer industry" were among the best things ever to happen to me. My values were put to the test and I had to really examine what was important in my life. It is because of this difficult experience at Sloan-Kettering that I found a truly meaningful direction for my professional life, rather than just climbing Sloan-Kettering's career ladder and losing my soul in the process.

Hoxsey History

(This is from the book "Cancer, Step Outside the Box" by Ty Bollinger, and I'd say it is the best one I've read so far. I suggest you do the same)

In 1924, at the age of only 23, Harry Hoxsey opened the Hoxsey Cancer Clinic in Dallas. For over 30 years, the clinic treated and cured many cancer patients using the Hoxsey tonic. By the 1950's, the Hoxsey Clinic in Dallas was the world's largest private cancer center, with branches in 17 states. At the time, the head of the AMA was Morris Fishbein, who was also the editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). Fishbein, who was nothing more than a money hungry @#%&*, tried to purchase the rights to the tonic from Hoxsey, but when he refused, Fishbein conducted a personal vendetta against him, using the JAMA as his primary means to discredit him.

Over the course of several years, Fishbein published numerous articles in the JAMA which claimed that the Hoxsey tonic was nothing more than a "worthless bottle of colored water" made of "backyard weeds". And due to the fact that he gave these weeds to cancer patients, Hoxsey, who was not a doctor, was arrested over 200 times for practicing medicine without a license. Perhaps his biggest adversary was district attorney, Al Templeton, who had him arrested 100 times. Al's brother, Mike, developed terminal cancer and went through the "Big 3" conventional treatments. After the doctors sent him home to die, Mike visited the Hoxsey Cancer Clinic and was eventually cured. When Al learned about his brother's miraculous recovery from terminal cancer, he quit his job and became Hoxsey's defense attorney.

Unfortunately, this was during the period that the "Big 3" conventional cancer treatments, due largely to their profitability to the entire Cancer Industry, were gaining a foothold in conventional cancer therapy. The inexpensive Hoxsey tonic posed a real threat to the profits which were being realized from the "Big 3", so it's not hard to guess what happened next: a huge smear campaign. Through their subversive network of cronies and through a series of slanderous articles, the Cancer Industry effectively labeled Hoxsey "the worst cancer quack of the century". But the "medical mafia" didn't stop at slander. FDA officials would actually break into his patients houses, intimidate them, tell them they were being duped by a quack, and steal their medicine.

However, in 1954, an independent team of ten physicians from around the United States made a two-day inspection of the Hoxsey Clinic in Dallas, examining case histories and speaking to patients. They declared that the clinic was "successfully treating pathologically proven cases of cancer, both internal and external, without the use of surgery, radium, or x-ray." Of course, the results of this investigation were ignored by the Cancer Industry. Then, in 1953, the Fitzgerald Report, commissioned by the U.S. Senate committee, concluded that organized medicine had "conspired to suppress" the Hoxsey therapy.

Due to a slanderous article published by Fishbein, Hoxsey sued him for libel and slander, and Hoxsey won. Fishbein was forced to resign from the AMA. Hoxsey's name, along with his tonic, had already been trashed and would never recover. All of Hoxsey's clinics were eventually shut down. The Dallas clinic closed in 1960, and three years later, to escape the mounting pressure, Mildred Nelson R.N. (his long time chief nurse whose mother had been cured from terminal cancer by the Hoxsey tonic) moved the operation to Tijuana, Mexico. Harry Hoxsey died in 1974, but the Bio-Medical Center, as the clinic is now called, continues to treat all types of cancer. .......................Matt

Hoxsey Ingredients

The Hoxsey formula mainly consists of berberis root, bloodroot, buckthorn bark, burdock, cascara, licorice, pokeroot, prickly ash bark, red clover, stillingia root, and potassium iodide. The concoction can be personalized depending on your specific cancer. For example, the woman who just came back from Mexico has been fighting pancreatic cancer off and on for the last three years. The doctors added yew tips to her formula because the plant has unique cancer fighting constituents.

Yew is FDA -approved for the treatment of breast and ovarian cancer. Two chemotherapy drugs, Paclitaxel and Taxol, which contain yew, are used for treating advanced ovarian cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, metastatic breast cancer, esophageal cancer, bladder cancer, head and neck cancer, and AIDS-related Kaposi's sarcoma. Inside A Mexican Cancer Clinic

Today, I questioned my friend who just returned from the Bio Medical clinic in Mexico. This is her experience: (quick version)

She flew to San Diego and boarded a bus which took her across the border to the clinic. Once inside, a doctor spent an hour with her asking questions, and ordering a blood and urine test (cost $50) About two dozen people were there being treated which was apparently a slow day. All the doctors were Hispanic. About six hours later, she left the clinic with the Hoxsey formula which will last her six months (cost $4000, but that is for a lifetime of Hoxsey tincture) The bus took her back across the border and she flew home to the North Pole now located in Central Illinois. After six months, she will return to Mexico and receive another six month supply of Hoxsey, and repeat this procedure year after year.

The clinic can't ship the formula into the United States which is why she must visit bi-annually. The price tag of $4000 may seem high, but consider this... One chemo shot to the stomach is also $4000, and with a 3% success rate for the first five years, and less than 1% following, the Mexican clinic is a bargain. Now, clearly, there is more to the story than this little paragraph, but it's time to celebrate. George Bush just gave his farewell speech, and it's only a matter of time before somebody slaps the handcuffs on him and his girlfriend Cheney. The worst "president" in the history of the world has left the building. .................................Matt

Cancer Update

The brother of a friend of mine who had cancer recently passed away. I posted the e-mail I sent to his brother last year about supplements and changes in diet. His brother never brought up the subject, so I doubt he did anything other than conventional treatment. I don't blame him, I blame his doctors for bending over to Big Pharma. Such a waste. He leaves behind, a wife and two young kids. Real sad.

My neighbor who has prostate cancer isn't getting much better. It spread to other organs, and doctors removed one of his kidneys.

A friend of mine from the store is returning from a cancer clinic in Mexico. She should be in tomorrow or Friday. She has been fighting pancreatic cancer for three years. Her supplements and diet have worked well, but the physicians across the border understand the disease and know how to cure it. You won't get that here in the States. I can't wait to talk to her.

Read Your Label

Check your supplements carefully. This is the time of year when manufacturers love to change the ingredients, and not for the better. Usually, they take out some of the more expensive ingredients and replace them with cheaper ones. Also, pay attention to the "other ingredients" listed in the small print. Companies never improve their supplements, they only make them less expensive to produce. Always hold on to an old bottle so you can compare them, and if you don't like what you see, it is time to switch brands.

Here are some things to look for:

1.) Vitamin B-12 (methylcobalamin) to vitamin B-12 (cyanocobalamin)

2.) vegetable magnesium stearate to magnesium stearate

3.) now, your tablets may contain dicalcium phosphate or pharmaceutical glaze

4.) Vitamin d-3 (cholecalciferol) to vitamin D-2 (ergocalciferol)

5.) magnesium citrate to magnesium oxide

6.) calcium citrate to calcium carbonate

7.) organic to natural

An increase in price doesn't mean your supplement has improved. ......................Matt

The Amazing Noni

From time to time, I try to let you know about new products at the store. Well, chew on this, because now I've seen everything. Available for the first time ever, all the way from where Obama was allegedly born,(no, not Kenya), noni fruit leathers from the islands of Hawaii. It's like beef jerky, but different.

I didn't think it was possible, or profitable, to take the delicious noni fruit and process it into a chewy goodness to alleviate health problems. I was wrong. Originally, we carried the noni juice and noni pills, but now you can actually eat the "hog apple" if you dare. The groundbreaking company also makes two noni lotions that relieve pain and inflammation. The lotions are mixed with lavender and menthol to keep the stink down.

I have eaten a piece of the noni leather, and I'm not going to lie to you. It tastes just like the juice, except you can't get it down fast. You have to stay calm and savor the flavor. Don't be scared, you just need a strong stomach and no sense of taste. .............................Matt

Desperation Or Deception?

by Jonathan D. Rockoff (Wall Sreet Journal)

Merck is asking federal regulators to expand the use of its human papillomavirus vaccine to boys and young men. The company has asked the FDA to approve the Gardasil vaccine’s use in males ages 9 to 26 years to prevent genital warts and other lesions, CNBC’s Mike Huckman reported. In 2006, the FDA approved giving the vaccine to girls and women of those ages.

We talked with a Merck spokeswoman who pointed to studies showing Gardasil’s effectiveness in young males. But the request will likely renew questions about Gardasil’s cost-effectiveness, especially with a price tag of $360 for a three-dose regimen. In August, Harvard researchers suggested the vaccine wasn’t worth the cost in older women likely to have been exposed to HPV by the time they were to get vaccinated.

Merck has also asked the FDA to expand Gardasil’s use to women ages 27 to 45 years.
The vaccine is a key product for Merck, which estimates sales this year of as much as $1.6 billion. But sales have slowed, down 4% in the third quarter compared to a year earlier.

I don't even know why Merck even bothers to ask the FDA for approval. Don't let them inject your children, ..... male or female. It's all about infertility, people, and horrible side effects. ...........Matt

So, You Want To Be A Size Zero

Everybody is looking to lose a little weight to start off the new year. Luckily, there are foods that you can consume to help shed those extra pounds. Yesterday, an article caught my attention describing the "10 best foods for weight loss," I decided that the author could have put together a better list for those struggling with their weight. The first ten are hers, the second ten are mine.

1.) beans

2.) sweet potatoes

3.) grapefruit

4.) sardines

5.) spinach

6.) cayenne pepper

7.) eggs

8.) yogurt

9.) artichokes

10.) fresh ginger

This one is a little more advanced...

1.) Beans? Do we really need more methane to add to the global warming problem? The only bean that really helps weight loss is the white kidney bean. An extract from this one prevents the body from absorbing carbohydrates which eventually turns to fat. Otherwise, most beans are hard to digest, fermenting in your stomach, and causing everybody else to stay at least 20 feet from you.

2.) Sweet potatoes equal carbs. That's the last thing you need. Apple cider vinegar is the way to go. It's super healthy and has the ability to eat fat. Sweet potatoes taste better, but so does chocolate cake. Don't "waist" your time.

3.) I can't argue with grapefruit. Reducing insulin levels and adding fiber are a good idea.

4.) I've never heard of anybody eating hairy minnows on a diet. Yes, it's a source of omega 3, but flax oil will force your body to remove excess estrogen which burns more fat and builds lean muscle. Plus, I don't have to watch you eat those nasty little suckers.

5.) Spinach is good for you, but spirulina has more protein and boosts your immune system..... a far better choice.

6.) I can live with cayenne pepper. It will speed up your metabolism.

7.) Eggs are fine, but leave out the yolks. The yolks have all of the fat and cholesterol, and you'll get plenty of that when you gain most of the weight back by Easter. Any extra protein should come in the form of a protein shake. It will fill you up, and you'll look cool drinking one.

8.) Yogurt, that's fine. Calcium has benefits, and probiotics keep you regular.

9.) Coconut oil or artichokes. Google both.... this one is easy.

10.) Who sits around and eats ginger? Nobody. The answer is green tea. It's in every diet supplement for a reason.

Ok, so half of mine are in liquid form, but if you had fewer solid foods in you diet, you wouldn't need this advice. .....................Matt

Feeling A Little Bloated?

I want to remind you that psyllium is a common ingredient in certain cleanses. Psyllium can be a very effective part of any cleanse, but remember that psyllium is a bulking agent (absorbs water) That means, it can cause some uncomfortable cramping. Pay attention to the list of herbs on back and start slowly. ...............Matt

Spring Cleaning During The Winter

January is a great time to start a whole body cleanse. This type of cleanse mainly targets your liver and colon removing toxins and renewing health. The cleanse usually takes about two weeks and consists of about 2-6 tablets per day. Try not to take any other supplements during this time and make sure you eat right. Start the year off right with a detox program. We have plenty to choose from, so stop in and and an employee will help you find one. .......................Matt

Goji Isn't The Only Berry From China

Schizandra is a woody vine with clusters of red berries that is found in northern and northeastern China and adjacent regions in Russia and Korea. It is used to treat a variety of medical conditions and is widely known as a longevity herb and aphrodisiac. It is used to treat lung and liver disorders, coughs, to relieve fatigue, depression and stress, increase stamina and for insomnia and night sweats.

Schizandra contains essential oils, acids and lignans which help regenerate liver tissue damaged by things like hepatitis and alcohol. Its adaptogenic action may help improve physical and mental performance, relieve fatigue and build strength. Studies have shown that schizandra is effective against the bacteria related to lung disorders. This herb provides more oxygen for the cells, increases the body's immune system and protects against stress. It also acts as an aphrodisiac, by increasing men's staying power and stimulating sensitivity in the female's genitals.

I've been taking schizandra for the last couple of months, and I think it's a great herb for the price. Unfortunately, you should take at least six pills to really benefit, but separating the capsules and pouring them into juice or a smoothie is very easy. The video below gives more information on this special berry. ...............Matt
