Kidney Stones and Cancer

We need these signs in our parking lot.
Another person with cancer was in yesterday. The cancer was located in the liver, and radiation wasn't working. He said that he already changed his diet, and started juicing, but didn't really know which supplements to use. We talked about 30 minutes, and he ended up buying a bag of apricot seeds. (which by the way, we only have one bag left, assuming nobody bought it earlier today)

One of our employees has a kidney stone, and is in severe pain. She does not want to have surgery, so I explained that she should take some powdered magnesium and see what happens. As far as she knows, the stones are calcium, so the magnesium has a good chance. I won't see her until Tuesday, and at the very least, she'll sleep good this weekend. ...............Matt

Glaucoma Decision Closer

I read an article written by an ND about glaucoma to help me decide which supplements would be the best for my mother-in -law. His protocol consisted of (100mg) of alpha lipoic acid, (2,000-4000mg) of vitamin C (ascorbic acid), (120mg) of ginko biloba, and (400 mg) of magnesium. After a couple of months, most participants had reduced pressure and improved eyesight. I understand why he chose these four, but I still think it doesn't do enough.

300 mg of ALA would be better, natural or ester C (buffered and easily assimilated) is superior, and lutein and zeaxanthin are too good for the eye to leave out. Whatever the combination is, I expect it to work. ................Matt

Didn't Go To Work Today

Today, I went to a funeral for the mother of a close friend. She was 61, and another victim of pharmaceutical drugs. A sad day for everybody. .

Chatter

Annah, I agree..."kids cuisine" would have made more sense. Artificial colors are exactly what young boys and girls need. I still have the other one in my freezer, and I'd be glad to mail it to you. I have a feeling that two days in transit, won't effect the taste.

Steve, about 3-4 weeks ago I joined Twitter.... even have the "tweet deck" setup. I'm having difficulty right now, finding time to play around with it. I like the concept, but I'm not that involved yet. I'll be easy to find. Look for some anti-Big Pharma rhetoric, and you'll find me. Thanks for getting the comments posted. I assume that was you. ...........Matt

Finally Responding, But Maybe Not Worth The Wait

Rickismom, anonymous, and Nikki... It could have been the protocol from the Changing Minds Foundation. I don't know much about it, so I can't comment. As far as I'm concerned, anything is possible. There has to be some kind of supplement that is beneficial, and eventually, they'll find it.

Anonymous, supposedly, chemtrails contain high amounts of barium, aluminum, ethylene dibromide, and a bunch of other nasty stuff. That's if you believe that we're actually being sprayed. Otherwise, it's a contrail and you're paranoid. A year ago, I'd say you were crazy, but after watching for hours, I am convinced something sinister is happening. I don't know what it is, but I have my own theory, or "conspiracy theory". Go to YouTube and you'll see that it's a worldwide phenomenon. A large "X", followed by a checkerboard design, eventually turns a blue sky, white. That can't be healthy. .............Matt

Add These To Your "Favorites"

Somebody else hates Monsanto as much as I do. Turn the volume down on this one, the music is brutal.

The second one is a really good site out of Australia for alternative news. It's an excellent source for science, medicine, and biotechnology news from around the world.

Current Events

On Friday, a woman asked my opinion about what could be used for leukemia. Her friend was going through chemotherapy, but the person wanted a supplement to help fight the cancer. As I was helping her, another gentleman who actually had leukemia, was waiting for my advice on his best alternative options. He was scheduled to start chemotherapy that day, but refused treatment. One person using complimentary medicine, the other choosing the natural route. Both choices are better than chemo alone.

In other news.... my wife has a mystery swelling around her right Achilles tendon and ankle. She doesn't remember how the injury occurred, but the area has been been hurting for about a week. I rubbed some DMSO on the most painful part of her foot, and let it absorb for 30 minutes The swelling went down about 50% in size before she went to bed. She also took three serrapeptidase for the inflammation. I'll repeat the procedure 2x today and see what happens.

Don't Burp This Up

Fish oil doesn't work for high cholesterol unless you take Lovaza. At least, that's what they want you to believe. The new omega 3 prescription drug from Glax0SmithKline is FDA approved to lower triglycerides, and no other product can compare.

"By choosing LOVAZA over dietary supplements you can buy at the store, you are getting the only omega-3 made through an FDA-approved preparation process. Unlike LOVAZA, dietary supplements are not approved to treat any disease and are not required to follow an FDA-approved preparation process."(lovaza.com)

Pharmaceutical companies are beginning to enter the "natural" market. They still have a lot of work to do. Lovaza is made from the inferior ethyl esters. Any good fish oil will work better. ..............Matt

Eye Pressure

My wife's mother is on the borderline for glaucoma. She will be checked again one year from now to evaluate her condition. So, I have 12 moths to find her the right supplements, and reverse the damage. I think it's possible to prevent glaucoma and improve her eyesight as long as the correct herbs and or antioxidants are taken. That's the big question. Which one will work the best?

This is a list of supplements I'm considering. It will be a combination of 2-3, and I may even throw in a specific detox.

collagen, lutein, zeaxanthin, alpha lipoic acid, l-arginine, coleus forskohli, jaborandi (the constituent pilocarpine is already FDA approved for glaucoma) and bilberry

I'm not going to get into why I chose these first, because I'm not done researching yet. We'll see. .........................................Matt

Best Ever

I know something that can get the taste out of your mouth, if you insist on eating a "Banquet" dinner. Try some chocolate, some real chocolate, to make you forget about those chicken fingers floating in your stomach. Any old brand won't do. "Endangers Species", nice try. "Dagoba", I don't think so. "Hershey's", not even close.

I had the best piece of chocolate of all time on Valentine's Day. It's called "Go Raw", Real Live Chocolate, by Freeland Foods. Six little nuggets of 100% organic, raw cacao with agave nectar. It's hard to explain...I've never had anything like it. Buy some, at least once, so you'll know what the real stuff tastes like. .................Matt

Don't Bank On It

I opened the freezer the other day, and found two boxes of "Banquet" brand TV dinners staring back at me. They were both the "chicken fingers meal" complete with three chicken logs, mac and cheese, and a fudge brownie nestled together in a black, plastic tray. Why were these bargain meals in my house? How did they get in here? Did the wife pick them up by mistake?

I read the ingredients. It's about what you'd expect:

spice, soy protein isolate, sodium tripolyphosphate, BHT, maltodextrin (corn), yellow #5, yellow #6, sodium phosphate dihydrate, acetic acid esters of mono- and diglycerides, ethyl alcohol, corn syrup, and polysorbate 80 (so yummy)

Who could make something this bad look so good on the package? It was Monsanto's buddy, food giant, ConAgra. You don't want all off that GMO corn and soy to go to waste, do you?

Apparently, my wife's grandparents brought the frozen meals for the twins. Thanks, but bring toys, not food. I opened the package and noticied the fudge batter moving around. It wasn't frozen. It must have been the ethyl alcohol, or maybe something more sinister.

After 20 minutes in the oven, the microwavable plastic container remained rigid. The unfreezable, pudding like substance, blossomed into a lopsided, blob. My wife was brave enough to try it. She said it had a strange texture.... "very pasty". The mac and cheese, actually looked like mac and cheese. Again, she tried it. She couldn't tell what she was eating.... "no taste at all". All that remained, were the greasy fingers. They were spongy to the touch. I slit the "finger" from top to bottom revealing a web of gray meat completely separated from the breading.

I had seen enough. "Not fit for human consumption", I thought. But, my dog looked hungry, and he has eaten things far worse. I gave him one finger as a tester, and so far, he's kept it down. Keep him in your thoughts.

Global Deception

That's right, more Monsanto. They are a global threat to the food supply.

Think it couldn't happen here? 90% of the soy and 50% of corn are already contaminated. Keep your seeds in a safe place.

TG or EE?

How good is your fish oil? Is it a natural triglyceride form, or is it the synthetically derived, ethyl ester form? It makes a big difference on absorption, so don't waste your time and money on bargain fish oil. Use this information to choose a better brand when your bottle runs out, because it won't be on the label. Here's the difference.(very brief descriptions)

Triglycerides are the fats that contain the EPA and DHA(omega 3). It is the natural form found in food. That's what we are looking for.

Ethyl Esters are synthetically produced fats made from free fatty acids and ethanol.... not so great.

How can I determine if my fish oil is a natural triglyceride or an ethyl ester? There is a simple, inexpensive and rapid method to determine if a fish oil is in the TG or EE form by using polystyrene (Styrofoam) cups.

Method:1. Measure and place 20ml of fish oil in a polystyrene cup. Place the cup on a plate to avoid any mess.2. Observe the cup after 10 minutes. If the fish oil has leaked significantly through the cup it contains EEs.

Due to their chemical composition, EE fish oils will actually eat straight through the polystyrene cup. This effect will become evident after just a few minutes, however significant leakage is seen after 10 minutes. Natural TG fish oils placed in the same cup will not show leakage after 10 minutes. Natural TG fish oils may show leakage through the cup in very small amounts after 2-3 hours.(ascentahealth.com)

Clearly, you have to really be into supplements to care about this stuff. .................Matt

Results Were Predictable

I'm not the only person who disagrees with this shocking discovery. ...........Matt
(NaturalNews) A new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine claims that multivitamins are useless at preventing cancer and cardiovascular disease in women. The mainstream media has predictably picked up on this story, gleefully running it as "proof" that nutrition is worthless and only pharmaceuticals can enhance your health. What they're not telling you, though, might shock you. Here's the truth about this so-called "scientific" study on multivitamins:

• No multivitamins were even used in the study! The women followed in this study weren't actually given any multivitamins at all. They were simply asked if they take multivitamins!

• There was no quality control in the study. Since no multivitamins were given to women, there was no quality control at all. Did these women take cheap, synthetic vitamins bought at Costco? Or did they take quality supplements from better sources? Nobody knows because it wasn't tracked!

• Multivitamin consumption FREQUENCY was not accurately measured. There was no ability of this study to reliably measure how often consumers actually took their multivitamins. Did they take them once a week? Once a month? Once a year? Even taking them once a year would have counted in this study as "taking multivitamins." Gee, no wonder the results showed no improvement.

In effect, this study did not measure the effects of multivitamins on cancer and heart disease. What it really measured was the degree to which people exaggerate their own claims of health habits, and the degree to which the mainstream media so easily falls for junk science. The MSM remains utterly clueless about nutrition, and it simply reprints practically any study published in a medical journal, even when that study is obviously based on deceptive science and a pro-Pharma agenda.

All these attacks on vitamin C, vitamin E, antioxidants and multivitamins have the same source: The Big Pharma-funded mainstream media and its effort to try to discredit nutritional supplements in order to please advertisers.

Another Flawed Study

More bad news for supplements today. Multivitamins are apparently worthless for preventing cancer and heart disease. Well, that's what the "experts" say. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services funded the study, so their results should not be surprising. The study was set up to fail, and therefore, has no merit. Unless, of course, the participants were taking "One A Day", or "Centrum". Then, I would agree. Just keep taking your supplements, and don't be manipulated into questioning your healthy habits. ..............Matt

Product Reviews

I tried two new products this week, and I would recommend them both. The first is an herbal toothpaste called "Auromere" which is an Ayurvedic formula originating in India. It contains peelu, neem, pomegranate, and comes in licorice flavor. I'm not a big fan of licorice, but this stuff didn't bother me. And the best part, NO fluoride. This is a good toothpaste, and I'm sticking with it.

I finally bought the kids a children's multi. It can be a hard choice for parents: Are there any synthetics? Is there too much iron? Are there any artificial sweeteners? The whole-food multivitamin complex from NewChapter takes the guess-work out of it. The powder pouches contain organic ingredients, which means, no synthetic vitamin isolates, no aluminum "lake" dyes, no refined sugars, and no aspartame. The girls loved it, but be careful. They went crazy, tore the house apart, and climbed all over me. Give it to your kids in the morning. Otherwise, nobody will get any sleep. .............Matt

Bad Back

It's been a long week. The wife hurt her back lifting something she shouldn't have been lifting. The same old story... she didn't use her legs when she picked up the item. It reminds me of the time, we went horseback riding on our anniversary, and she was thrown from the horse like a sack of potatoes. Apparently, a hedge ball dropped to the ground, spooking the beast, and leaving her staring at the sky. So, leisurely activities with horses were banned, and I curse every hedge ball tree I see.

I gave her some serrapeptidase and "Wobenzyme" but it hasn't helped. It's the type of injury that only vicodin and rest can "cure". If anybody has a quick fix, let's hear it, because it's not getting any better. .................Matt

Mega Food

We're trying a new brand of supplements by a company called "MegaFood". They are one of the few who use food based technology to create an excellent line of products. By a process of cold fusion, these vitamins and minerals contains a full spectrum of phytonutrients easily utilized by the body. Check them out for yourself ................... Matt

Seeds Of Change

I know it's a little early to start thinking about it, because it's freezing outside, but our shipment of organic seeds arrived this week. As usual, they are 100% certified organic, and come in heirloom and traditional varieties...... no herbicides, pesticides, or GMO's. So far, we have only certain herbs and vegetables, but I'm sure you'll find something to plant.

Also, we will no longer be carrying the Harmonic Innerprizes brand. They stopped selling to health food stores, and decided to market to doctors instead. It's too bad. There supplements were really good. If you can find any, grab them while you can. ........................Matt

Try It, You'll Like It

For the last couple of weeks, I've been taking chlorella to detox and remove heavy metals from most of my major organs. I think I feel better, but maybe it's all in my head. Who knows how much mercury and aluminum actually remains. My eating habits are decent but you're constantly being bombarded with so many toxins every day.

The wife and I are definitely going to stick with it for at least six months. It is a handful of tablets every day, but I take them at night so I wake up feeling better than normal. Try rotating between chlorella and spirulina, and add a little barley grass to the mix. You'll feel better and be much healthier.(and they're all easy on the wallet)
