Raw Honey Experiment 2

I use honey to sweeten coffee and herbal tea. Being the adventurous type, I'm testing and reviewing various honey products. See my posts: Raw Honey Experiment and Acacia Himalayan Raw Honey and Cinnamon Flavored Honey.

I've decided to give preference to raw, organic, unprocessed, natural honey. I still like many filtered, flavored honies, but for nutrients and therapeutic value, raw honey is clearly superior.

As a side note, a naturopath told me to use white honey, many years ago, but I disregarded his advice because it looked weird. I was a teenager, and not very humble. It's a miracle any sense at all was able seep into my skull.

Wiser, by a slim modicum, now I am investigating all the different types of natural sweeteners, like agave nectar, coconut palm sugar crystals, and brown rice syrup, but I still like honey the best.

I'm currently assessing the qualities of two types of raw honey. One is the Tree of Life Creamed Clover Honey, which is raw and unfiltered. Product of USA and Canada. I like all the Tree of Life honeys, especially their orange blossom honey and avocado honey.

Raw honey is like a paste, you scoop a bit out with a spoon, rather than pouring it. It's also rather potent, a little goes a long way. This Creamed Clover Honey is really sweet and has a spring flower field fragrance. If you like honey, this is definitely one to try.

The other honey, which I've blogged about previously, that I'm evaluating is Cinna Honey from local producer YS Organic Bee Farms, one of my favorite companies in the whole organic realm. Like the label says, this is cinnamon-infused raw honey.

Cinnamon-infused raw honey, I repeat. Let that sink in. Two powerful natural sweeteners combined. It's a brilliant idea and a delicious product. Cinna Honey  is exceptionally tasty in coffee with cream.

My conclusion is that I like the Cinna Honey all by itself, as a little snack, a small teaspoon of it, letting the cinnamon saturate my tongue as the lump melts in my mouth. I also like using Cinna Honey in coffee.

The Creamed Clover Honey I like using in tea. I often make herbal blends: mixing peppermint, pomegranate, ginger root, and green tea in one pot. To add cinnamon flavor to a concoction like this would be flavor overload, but sometimes I do add it to my teas when I brew an individual tea, like golden seal, mullein, red clover, dandelion, hyssop, or hawthorn.
