Isn't it funny how we often reserve certain delicious items for specific occasions only?
Some people probably rarely eat hot dogs, but do so at a ball game. Others love peanut brittle, but only eat it during December and January. You may eat popcorn only while watching a movie, cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving, or hot chicken wings during the Super Bowl.
Grocery stores cater to these seasonal or special occasion trends. When do you ever see fruit cake or shelled nuts on the shelf? Generally only in in the autumn and winter.
It's almost like an unspoken law: This is for _________ season/holiday/event only!
Eggnog is one of those circumstantial substances, a strictly seasonal beverage, but there's no logical reason why it isn't served year round. It just isn't. That's all there is to it.
"Nog" is a drink made from eggs beaten with milk, cream, and sugar, often spiked with rum or other alcoholic liquor, and sometimes seasoned with cinnamon, shaved chocolate, or nutmeg; usually spelled eggnog. It is a traditional drink served at social gatherings during the Christmas, חנוכה (Ḥănukkāh), and New Year's season.
Are you a vegan? Do you avoid egg products for health reasons or digestive problems?
Try some Silk Nog.
I love this, it tastes exactly like a rich, creamy egg nog -- but it's soy nog.
Nog, as stated on the attractive, artistically correct carton, is a "seasonal flavor" (what'd I tell you?) of Silk Soy Milk.
Silk Nog contains NO lactose, dairy, cholesterol, eggs, casein, MSG, genetically altered or artificial ingredients.
CONTENTS: All natural soy milk from North American soybeans, all natural evaporated cane juice, natural flavors, sea salt, carrageenan, turmeric and annatto. It may contain almond or coconut.
Man, that tastes good in my Lasalle County Sheriff Robert "Pete" Wahl's Annual Golf Outing glass.
Celebrate the holidays like "normal people" (LOL).
Get some Silk Nog and you''ll have one super excellent, very satisfying drink.
Plus, there's an Silk Nog Cheesecake recipe on the carton.
